최정화(b.1961)는 조각, 공예, 디자인, 인테리어 등의 제분야에서 작가 및 아트디렉터, 프로듀서로 활동하고 있다. 다채로운 일상의 오브제를 활용하는 그의 작업은 한국의 근대화 과정에서 발생한 대량생산과 소비활동에 주목하여, 현대인의 삶 속에 스며든 색다른 아름다움과 아시아적 근대성, 동양적 가치를 전달한다. 작가는 홍익대학교 회화를 전공하였으며, 2006년 올해의 예술상, 2005년 제7회 일민예술상을 수상한 바 있다. The Museum of Fine Art(Houston), LACMA, K11(Hong Kong), Minsheng Art Museum(Shanghai), Mori Museum 등 전세계의 미술기관에서 개인전 및 그룹전을 개최하였으며, 그의 작품은 Canberra Museum과 Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, Auckland Museum, 삼성미술관 리움 등지에 소장되어 있다.
