한국 1세대 모더니스트이자 추상 미술 영역을 개척한 선구자 유영국 화백의 개인전 《유영국: 무한 세계로의 여정》이 이탈리아의 유서 깊은 건축 퀘리니 스탐팔리아 재단에서 개최됩니다.
《유영국: 무한 세계로의 여정》에서는 유화 30점 판화 14점을 비롯하여 드로잉과 아카이브 자료 전시되어 유 화백의 삶과 예술을 압축적이고 핵심적으로 선보일 예정입니다.
특히 유영국 작품세계의 중요한 전환점이자 절정기라고 할 수 있는 1960-70년대 작품이 중심으로 소개되며, 유기적인 형태에서 기하학적인 형태로 변화하는 실험과 풍부한 색채의 변주로 순수한 추상을 향해 나아가는 그의 끝없는 여정을 선보입니다.
PKM Gallery is pleased to announce a special solo exhibition of Yoo Youngkuk, the first-generation modernist and pioneer of abstract art in Korea, 𝘈 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦: 𝘠𝘖𝘖 𝘠𝘖𝘜𝘕𝘎𝘒𝘜𝘒 at Fondazione Querini Stampalia, which is historic structure of Italy.
𝘈 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦: 𝘠𝘖𝘖 𝘠𝘖𝘜𝘕𝘎𝘒𝘜𝘒 features over 30 artworks and 14 prints along with drawings and archival materials, providing a condensed and essential introduction to Yoo‘s life and art.
Especially, this exhibition sheds light on the pivotal period of the 1960s and 1970s in Yoo’s artistic journey, highlighting the transition from organic forms to geometric shapes and experimentation, with rich color variations. In this regard, it will showcase the artist‘s endless exploration of pure abstraction to us.
