정현(b. 1956)의 조각을 서울의 역사적 장소와 도심의 열린 광장에서 만나볼 수 있습니다.
첫 번째 장소는 한양도성 성벽입니다. 1396년 축조된 이후 여러 차례 개축과 보수를 거친 성벽 아래, 철도 침목으로 제작한 ‹서 있는 사람›(2015–2021) 7점이 설치되었습니다. 오랜 시간을 견뎌 온 성벽과 침목의 만남은 서로 다른 역사와 시간의 흔적을 드러냅니다. 이번 작품 설치는 제1회 2026 성북아트위크의 ‘성북 역사문화예술 공간프로젝트’를 통해 이루어졌습니다. 한양도성 성벽에 설치된 작품은 2027년 4월 25일까지 관람할 수 있습니다.
Sculptures by CHUNG, Hyun (b. 1956) are on view at a historic landmark and an open public space in Seoul.
The first site is the wall of Hanyangdoseong, the Seoul City Wall. Built in 1396 and reconstructed and repaired several times over the centuries, the wall now stands alongside seven sculptures from CHUNG’s 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘢𝘯 (2015–2021), made from railroad ties. The encounter between the wall and the railroad ties, both having endured the passage of time, evokes traces of their distinct histories. The installation is part of the space projects at 11 historic and cultural heritage sites presented during the inaugural 2026 SEONGBUK ART WEEK. The sculptures installed along the Seoul City Wall will remain on view through April 25, 2027.
