OCI 미술관에서는 김지원 작가의 개인전 《한 발짝 더 가까이》가 진행 중입니다.
이번 전시는 작가의 30여 년 회화 여정을 담은 대규모 전시로, 맨드라미·분수·불꽃 등 그간의 상징적 모티프를 벗어나 새로운 연작들을 대거 공개합니다. 전시는 ‘기억-현실-내면’의 흐름으로 구성되어, 1층에서는 ‘아버지의 옥상’ 연작을 통해 사적 서사를 회상하고, 2층에서는 일상의 콘크리트 벽을 담은 ‘비슷한 벽, 똑같은 벽’ 연작으로 평범한 풍경의 전복을 보여줍니다. 마지막 3층에서는 100점의 드로잉으로 구성된 ‘오이’ 연작을 통해 유희적이고 솔직한 작가의 태도를 드러냅니다. 김지원은 담백(Simplicity), 당당(Confidence), 중용(Moderation)이라는 세 가지 키워드를 축으로, 해석의 피로를 덜고 회화 본연의 즐거움으로 관객을 초대합니다. 전시는 12월 20일까지.

Marking over three decades of artistic practice, Kim Jiwon’s solo exhibition presents a sweeping survey of his painterly evolution—eschewing the familiar motifs of cockscombs, fountains, fireworks, and airplanes in favor of newly unveiled series that reveal a refreshed visual language. Structured as a gradual passage from ‘memory’ to ‘reality’ to ‘inner self’, the exhibition opens with the 𝘍𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳’𝘴 𝘙𝘰𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘰𝘱 series, intimate recollections of the artist’s personal history. The second chapter, 𝘚𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘞𝘢𝘭𝘭, 𝘚𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘞𝘢𝘭𝘭 series, transforms the concrete barriers of Korean urban landscapes into contemplative studies of the ordinary. On the top floor, a constellation of one hundred drawings from the 𝘊𝘶𝘤𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 series distills Kim’s spontaneous humor and painterly wit. Guided by the principles of ‘Simplicity’, ‘Confidence’, and ‘Moderation’, Kim invites viewers to look closer—beyond interpretation—to experience painting in its most direct and disarming form.
