KOO JEONG A: LAND OF OUSSS [ GRAVITTA ]

구정아 작가의 대규모 개인전 «LAND OF OUSSS [ GRAVITTA ]»가 오스트리아의 쿤스트하우스 브레겐츠에서 개최되고있습니다.

이번 전시는 층마다 다른 환경과 조건에 맞춰 구성되며, 구정아가 지속적으로 탐구해 온 비가시적 영역과 에너지를 화두로하는 작업 20여 점을 선보입니다. 1층에 설치된 완만한 곡선의 축광 조각 신작 ‹[ GRAVITTA ]›를 시작으로, 2층에서는3차원 깊이를 담은 축광 회화 ‹Seven Stars›와 2024년 베니스 비엔날레 한국관 전시 «오도라마 시티»에서 소개된 바 있는뫼비우스 조각 ‹OCV SOS›, ‹AMBIGRAM›, ‹APERIODIC›이 관객을 맞이합니다. 보이지 않는 자성으로 공간에 긴장을더하는 ‹Magnet› 연작은 3층에서, 거꾸로 흐르는 듯한 시간 속 기체와 같은 형상의 움직임을 담은 비디오 신작 ‹Evocative Burst› (2025)은 4층에서 관람할 수 있습니다.

전시는 빛, 자성, 시간 등의 비물질을 통해 감각의 지평을 확장하고, 구정아가 구축해 온 미지 세계 ‘OUSSS’*로 우리를이끕니다. 전시는 5월 25일까지.

*OUSSS: 구정아가 창조한 개념으로, 불가사의한 우주와 형태, 에너지 등 의미가 끊임없이 변하는 매우 개인적인공간이자 상태.

A major solo exhibition by Koo Jeong A, titled 𝘓𝘈𝘕𝘋 𝘖𝘍 𝘖𝘜𝘚𝘚𝘚 [ 𝘎𝘙𝘈𝘝𝘐𝘛𝘛𝘈 ] is currently on view at Kunsthaus Bregenz in Austria.
Tailored to the distinct environment and conditions of each floor, the exhibition features approximately twenty works that explore the invisible realms and energies—a central theme in Koo’s enduring artistic practice. The journey begins on the ground floor with [𝘎𝘙𝘈𝘝𝘐𝘛𝘛𝘈], a new, gently curved phosphorescent sculpture. On the second floor, viewers are met with 𝘚𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘴, a phosphorescent painting of three-dimensional depth, alongside the Möbius sculptures [𝘖𝘊𝘝 𝘚𝘖𝘚], [𝘈𝘔𝘉𝘐𝘎𝘙𝘈𝘔] and [𝘈𝘗𝘌𝘙𝘐𝘖𝘋𝘐𝘊], which were previously showcased in the Korean Pavilion’s 𝘖𝘥𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘢 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 at the 2024 Venice Biennale.
The third floor hosts the [𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘯𝘦𝘵] series, which adds tension to the space through invisible magnetism. On the fourth floor, the new video work [EB] 𝘌𝘷𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘉𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘵 (2025) captures the movement of gas-like forms within a temporal flow that seems to run in reverse.
By engaging with immaterial elements such as light, magnetism, and time, the exhibition expands the horizon of perception and leads us into ‘𝘖𝘜𝘚𝘚𝘚’*, the enigmatic world constructed by Koo Jeong A. The exhibition runs through May 25.
