The exhibition 𝘚𝘶𝘩 𝘚𝘦𝘶𝘯𝘨-𝘞𝘰𝘯 徐承元 is on view at Tokyo Gallery + BTAP. It presents the first comprehensive survey of the artist’s practice in Japan, spanning approximately 60 years, from works of the 1960s to those of 2025.
In 1975, Suh participated in the group exhibition 𝘍𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘏𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘬 ‘𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦’: 𝟧 𝘒𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘴 at Tokyo Gallery. The exhibition marked a pivotal moment in the international introduction of Korean 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘢𝘦𝘬𝘩𝘸𝘢 and established an enduring relationship between the artist and the gallery. From early color experiments in printmaking to the 𝘚𝘪𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘪𝘵𝘺 series, the exhibition traces the development of Suh Seung-won’s practice. It runs until April 11.
