삶에서 찾은 유머와 아이러니의 코드를 활용해 일상을 새롭게 환기시키는 작업들을 선보여온 이원우 작가의 작품을 서울시립 북서울미술관의 《소원을 말해봐》에서 만나볼 수 있습니다.
2024년 서울시립미술관 기관 의제인 ‘연결’의 의미를 반영한 본 전시는 무속·신화·설화의 초월적이며 지혜로운 존재들을 통해 서로의 소통과 공생을 바라는 마음을 전합니다.
이번 전시에서 이원우는 신작 〈상냥한 왕자〉, <제비> 를 통해 타인을 상냥하고 따뜻하게 대하는 제스처를 보여주며, 비물질적 정보 소비에 익숙해진 현대인들이 잃어가는 중요한 가치들을 상기시킵니다. 이와 더불어 타인이나 세계와 관계 맺을 때 따듯하고 상냥한 태도를 취한다면 모두 함께 행복에 이를 수 있음을 전달합니다. 전시는 4월 23일부터 8월 4일까지.

Aligned with the Seoul Museum of Art’s 2024 theme of ‘connection’, the exhibition aims to foster communication and coexistence through transcendent and wise beings of shamanism, myths, and narratives.
In this exhibition, Lee presents his new works The Sweet Prince and Swallow, embodying a friendly and warm gestures towards others. These works serve as a reminder of the important values that modern people may overlook in their consumption of immaterial information. The artist also conveys the message that everyone can attain happiness through warm and gentle interactions with others and the world. The exhibition is open from April 23rd to August 4th.
