퍼포먼스, 조각, 회화, 사진, 영상, 텍스트 등 예술의 다양한 영역을 가로지르는 멀티 아티스트 이원우(b.1981). 현재 서울 곳곳에서 그가 참여한 전시가 이어지고 있습니다. 삶에서 경험하는 다양한 요소들을 특유의 위트와 해학으로 비틀며 익숙한 것들에 새로운 환기를 더하는 작가의 작업은, 서로 다른 전시의 맥락과 공간 안에서 또 다른 감각과 관계를 만들어냅니다.
📍서울문화예술교육센터 은평 «HOW WE DANCE»
이원우의 다양한 조각 작업을 만날 수 있는 전시를 소개합니다. 전시의 제목이 암시하듯, 라운지에 놓인 조각들의 모습은 마치 저마다의 리듬으로 춤을 추고 있는 듯한 장면을 선사합니다. 작가는 춤을 조각의 제작 과정 자체에 비유하며, 불안에서 벗어나기 위한 행위이자 타자와 나누는 움직임 등으로 해석한 작업들을 선보여왔습니다. ‘서울문화재단 2026 공간상설 ‹춤추는 라운지›’의 일환으로 기획된 이번 개인전에서는 관객 참여형 프로그램인 ’댄스타임’이 함께 진행됩니다. 해당 프로그램에 대한 자세한 정보는 @sdcc.ep 에서 확인하실 수 있습니다. 전시는 6월 7일까지.
Wonwoo Lee (b.1981) works across performance, sculpture, painting, photography, video, and text. Across Seoul, exhibitions featuring the artist are currently on view. Twisting familiar elements of everyday life through his signature wit and humor, Lee’s works renew our awareness of the ordinary, creating new sensations and relationships within different exhibition contexts and spaces.
📍Seoul Dance Creation Center, 𝘏𝘖𝘞 𝘞𝘌 𝘋𝘈𝘕𝘊𝘌
This exhibition introduces a diverse selection of Wonwoo Lee’s sculptural works. As the exhibition title suggests, the sculptures placed throughout the lounge appear almost as if they are dancing to their own rhythms. Lee has long used dance as a metaphor for the sculptural making process itself, and has also presented works that frame dance as an act of overcoming anxiety and as a movement shared with others. Organized as part of Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture’s 2026 Open Space Program 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘓𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘦, the exhibition also features the audience participation program “Dance Time.” More information about the program can be found at @sdcc.ep .
