Young In Hong (b. 1972) is participating in the international touring exhibition 𝘏𝘺𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘪 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴: 𝘌𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘞𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘯, which travels to the Whitworth in Manchester following its presentations at Cheongju Craft Biennale 2025 and the National Crafts Museum & Hastkala Academy in New Delhi. The exhibition brings together textile traditions and craft cultures from Korea, India, and beyond. Hong presents work that focuses on women’s labour.
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘯 awarded the exhibition four stars in its review, highlighting Hong’s 𝘚𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘴, a series of ornate flags produced in collaboration with Kala Raksha, a grassroots artisan collective in Kutch, and noting her integration of traditional Indian mirror work into the series.
