파주 통일촌 마을, 갤러리 그리브스, 임진각 평화누리 등 DMZ 일대에서 열리는 《DMZ OPEN : UNDO DMZ》는 분단과 긴장의 상징인 DMZ를 생태, 회복, 상상의 공간으로 재해석하는 전시입니다. 국내외 10명의 작가가 참여해 DMZ의 생태, 경계, 기억을 예술적으로 풀어낸 26점의 작품을 선보입니다. 홍영인 작가는 두루미와의 만남에서 영감을 받아 사운드 설치작 〈우연한 낙원〉과 설치작 〈학의 눈밭〉을 선보입니다. 〈우연한 낙원〉은 작가의 목소리를 두루미 울음소리로 변주해 공간을 채우며 인간과 자연, 영적 세계의 교차점을 탐색하고, 〈학의 눈밭〉은 하얀 모래 위에 놓인 여덟 쌍의 신발로 두루미의 개별성과 존재를 강조합니다. 두 작품은 DMZ의 생태적 변화와 자연과의 새로운 관계를 예술적으로 제안합니다. 전시는 11월 5일까지.
Currently on view across the DMZ area — including Paju’s Tongilchon Village, Gallery Greaves, and Imjingak Pyeonghwa Nuri — 𝘋𝘔𝘡 𝘖𝘗𝘌𝘕: 𝘜𝘕𝘋𝘖 𝘋𝘔𝘡 reinterprets the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), long regarded as a symbol of war and division, as a site of ecology, recovery, and renewed imagination. The exhibition features twenty-six works by ten Korean and international artists. Artist Hong Young In presents Accidental Paradise, a sound installation inspired by her encounter with cranes in the DMZ, and White Cranes and Snowfall, an installation featuring eight pairs of shoes placed on white sand. Accidental Paradise fills the space with the artist’s voice transformed into crane calls, exploring the intersection of humans, nature, and the spiritual realm. White Cranes and Snowfall highlights the individuality and presence of the cranes. Together, the works suggest a poetic vision of the DMZ’s ecological transformation and propose new ways of relating to nature. The exhibition runs through November 5.
