PKM 갤러리는 아트 바젤 홍콩 2026에서 한국 근현대 미술을 대표하는 6명의 국내 유명 전속 작가들의 작품을 출품한다.
유영국은 한국 추상 회화의 선구자로, 한국의 자연을 선·면·색채의 조형적 구성으로 환원한 독창적인 회화를 통해 시대를 넘은 추상의 정수를 보여준다. 오는 5월에는 유 화백 탄생 110년을 기념해 서울시립미술관에서 그의 예술세계를 총망라하는 회고전 «유영국: 산은 내 안에 있다» 가 개최된다.
윤형근은 하늘을 뜻하는 '청색(Ultramarine)'과 땅을 상징하는 '다색(Umber)'을 천 위에 스며들고 번지게 하는 작업으로 한국의 단색화 미학을 대표해왔다. 오는 8월 PKM 갤러리에서 대규모 개인전이 개최되며, 10월에는 샌프란시스코의 SFMOMA에서 BTS의 RM이 기획하는 «RM x SFMOMA» 전시를 통해 그의 작품이 집중적으로 조명될 예정이다.
이근민은 자신의 병리적 경험과 환각의 기억을 소재로, 인체를 해체한 그로테스크한 구상과 추상으로 독자적인 회화 세계를 구축해왔다. 오는 6월 PKM 갤러리에서 작가의 작품 세계를 집약적으로 선보이는 첫 개인전이 열린다.
이원우는 설치, 조각, 퍼포먼스, 영상 등 다양한 매체로 일상의 흐름을 유머러스하게 환기하는 작업을 확장해 오고 있다. 이번 페어에서는 여러 조각 작업을 통해 관람객을 생경한 감각 신호와 찰나의 행복으로 초대한다.
한국의 대표적 현대 조각가인 정현은 인간과 존재의 본질을 탐구하고 재료가 지닌 에너지와 역사를 드러내는 작업을 전개해왔다. 지난해 12월 막을 내린 PKM 갤러리 개인전 «그의 겹쳐진 순간들» 의 성공으로 국내외 다수의 컬렉터들에게 주목받고 있으며, 이번 페어에서는 뼈대와 덩어리라는 인체의 핵심적 형태로 환원된 두상, 입상까지의 브론즈 조각을 선보인다.
코디 최는 회화, 조각, 설치 등 다양한 매체로 동서양의 문화적 정체성과 혼종성을 탐구해왔다. 이번 페어에서는 인물의 대칭, 턱시도와 탁구대, 촛불 등 정교하게 배치된 상징적 장치를 통해 이성과 무의식의 충돌을 탐구하는 신작 시리즈를 선보인다.
PKM Gallery is pleased to present works by six preeminent Korean artists at Art Basel Hong Kong 2026, representing Korean modern and contemporary art.
Yoo Youngkuk, a pioneer of Korean abstract painting, distills the forms of nature to compositions of line, plane, and color, revealing the timeless essence of abstraction through an original visual language. In celebration of the 110th anniversary of the artist’s birth, a major retrospective surveying his entire artistic career will open at the Seoul Museum of Art this May.
A master of Dansaekhwa, Yun Hyong-keun has embodied the aesthetics of Korean monochrome painting through works in which the pigments ultramarine, signifying the sky, and umber, signifying the earth, permeate and bleed into the fabric. A major solo exhibition will open at PKM Gallery in August 2026, and his works will be prominently featured in RM x SFMOMA exhibition in October at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art—a special project curated by RM of BTS.
Keunmin Lee has developed a singular painterly world rooted in his pathological experiences and hallucinatory memories. By deconstructing the human form into grotesque figuration and abstraction. His first solo exhibition at PKM Gallery, opening this June, will present an intensive showcase of his works.
Wonwoo Lee continues to expand his practice across installation, sculpture, performance and video, humorously evoking the rhythms of everyday life. At Art Basel Hong Kong, he invites visitors into unfamiliar sensory signals and moments of fleeting happiness through his sculptural works.
A leading Korean contemporary sculptor, CHUNG, Hyun explores the essence of human existence and reveals the energy and history inherent in material itself. Following the immense success of his recent solo exhibition, The Cumulative Burst at PKM Gallery, CHUNG brings a series of bronze sculptures to Hong Kong. These works, ranging from heads to standing figures, reduce the human body to its most essential forms of bone and mass.
Cody Choi has long examined questions of cultural identity and hybridity between East and West through painting, sculpture, and installation. At the fair, he presents a new series of works that explore the collision between reason and the unconscious through precisely arranged symbolic motifs, such as symmetrical figures, tuxedos, ping-pong tables, and candlelight.
